Arsenal kicks off its stadium tours using Imagineear’s SafeSpace™ technology
As sports venues begin to reopen across London and the UK since closing their doors in March due to the Covid-19 lockdown, longstanding Imagineear client Arsenal Football Club has resumed its Emirates Stadium Tours with a new socially-distanced visitor experience.
Observing physical distancing rules and Covid-19 safety protocols, the team at Arsenal has implemented new measures to keep fans safe during a visit so that they can continue to enjoy and explore the unique and unforgettable Emirates Stadium. A one-way system has been introduced to take visitors on a linear route through the stadium to help regulate the number of people in an area at a given time. This helps avoid pinch points or the potential for congestion during the tour, especially in some of the smaller areas like the Directors’ Box and Players’ Entrance.
Imagineear has edited the tour content in all ten languages, including British Sign Language (BSL), to support social distancing and the new visitor flow, with visual reminder prompts on the device’s screen to help individual visitor awareness on the tour route. Furthermore, Arsenal is one of the first clients to use Imagineear’s SafeSpace™ – a proximity-based technology that ensures visitors remain at a safe distance from each other whilst onsite.
SafeSpace™ operates out of the box on Imagineear devices as a simple software upgrade. It communicates in three directions: from device to device; from device to the cloud and from device to visitor. When a visitor’s, or family group’s space is compromised by another visitor, SafeSpace™ triggers an audio, haptic and/or visual alert on the user’s device prompting them to keep a safe distance from each other.
“At Imagineear, our overarching aim is for visitors to have a fantastic experience at our client’s amazing venues, taking a break from the pressures of lockdown, and immersing themselves and their families in the enjoyment of a visit again. We recognise that visitors need confidence that hygiene and social distancing is being managed effectively at all times and our SafeSpace™ solution allows our clients to reassure and demonstrate to fans that it is safe to visit.” said Clare Cooper-Hammond, Managing Director.
