Royal Albert Hall

The Royal Albert Hall, London’s most iconic music venue and one of the UK’s most
treasured and distinctive tourist attractions, partnered with Imagineear to bring a
multimedia group-guiding experience to its venue tours.

Brief

The original brief was to create a version of the guided tour in multiple languages, which could be easily
digested by foreign language visitors, without disrupting the guided tour. This soon evolved into a larger project to create multimedia content galleries, delivered on Imagineear’s MPTi™, combined with Multimedia GroupGuide™ technology, which allows the group leader’s live commentary to be interspersed with dynamic multimedia content, elevating the experience to a new level of multi-sensory interactivity.

Solution

Imagineear produced an edited version of the existing script used by tour guides for training purposes. The huge editing down of the guides’ script was a significant project for Imagineear writers. The Multimedia GroupGuide™ brings the Hall’s stories to life through a range of engaging content that adds visual references to tour guide commentary. This includes chronological timelines and infographics, compelling timelapse and 360° videos, galleries and slideshows, plus some of Imagineear’s latest innovative content features.
The addition of this type of immersive multimedia delivers an unforgettable and multisensory visitor experience while preserving the personal touch of a group-led tour.

“We’re so excited to be adding another level to the tours experience through this partnership with Imagineear. Their groundbreaking technology will work in tandem with our incredible tour guides to evoke the history of this extraordinary place, bringing to life the world- changing events that have happened on our famous stage, and the remarkable stories behind them.” Anthony Winter-Brown, Director of Visitor Experience at the Royal Albert Hall.
