Imagineear Goes Bats in Puerto Rico

Bats are the wildlife heroes of Puerto Rico’s Camuy River Cave Park (Parque de las Cavernas de Rio Camuy), the site of Imagineear’s latest multimedia tour, now live at this network of natural limestone caves and underground waterways, carved out by the third-largest subterranean river in the world.

Thirteen species of bats hang out in the 10 miles of cave system that has been mapped up until now, so it seemed only appropriate that in a tour including dramatised and character acting a bat should take a lead part in the action.

The script – written, recorded and produced by Imagineear – included a multi-voice soundtrack available in two languages – Puerto Rican Spanish and American English on 700 of Imagineear’s MediaPacker™ players.

Imagineear’s Content Director, Eleonore Heijboer explains, ‘Being part of the protected National Parks of Puerto Rico, the area closes once a maximum daily visitor capacity of 1,500 is reached but those visitors get to see the natural wonders on display such as impressive stalactites, stalagmites, giant sinkholes, views deep down to the river and, of course, thousands of bats.’
