Imagineear partners with the Chatsworth House team
Home to the Devonshire family, and passed down through 16 generations, Chatsworth House boasts over 25 rooms including the Painted Hall, State Rooms and Sculpture Gallery.
Ever-evolving, extensive 105-acre gardens, the product of nearly 500 years of careful cultivation, surround the stately home and include an arboretum, rock garden, fountains, sculptures and more.
Wanting to improve upon their existing online map and support visitors navigating the wider estate, the Chatsworth team sought an agency to deliver a more comprehensive and extensive multimedia navigational app. The team were also looking for an innovative content development partner to produce new content for the House, Gardens and Temporary Exhibition Programme.
Imagineear designed and produced an innovative and jam-packed Imagineear Web App featuring GPS-located content guiding visitors throughout the Estate, around the House Highlights and through the history of the Devonshire family. New engaging audio content was recorded and produced by Imagineear which features interviews with the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire discussing some of their favourite pieces from the 2022 Temporary Exhibition. The exhibition ‘Living With Art We Love’ celebrates some of their favourite pieces from the eclectic collection at Chatsworth.
The app was a huge project covering a vast range of content and literal square mileage. Imagineear developed and built an intuitive GPS map of the Chatsworth Estate with location-based points of interest content. In addition to the Estate’s key POIs, the navigational map includes signposting to Estate facilities, restaurants and amenities. With such a wide expanse and connectivity being variable, the web app needed to balance streaming and caching content, with differing areas of the Estate requiring tailored technical solutions.

The result is an intuitive and beautifully designed app which enriches the visitor experience and promotes Chatsworth and its vast array of additional amenities at the same time”.
