Kids Dolls’ House Tour Commissioned by Frans Hals Museum

The latest project to land at Imagineear is for our long-term client the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem.

The museum, home to the most extensive collection of Frans Hals’ paintings, contains the dolls’ house of 18th century art collector Sara Rothé, a miniature replica of an Amsterdam merchant’s house of the period. The dolls’ house is one of the museum’s highlights and is particularly popular with children. This treasure contains about 1,000 miniature items of household objects and furnishings. Some of the miniature silver objects are hallmarked by famous 18th century Amsterdam silversmiths.

Imagineear has been asked to create and build a tour in Dutch, especially for young visitors, to bring alive the different rooms in this beautifully crafted Dutch house that was built for show rather than play. The tour will take the children, in school groups as well as with their families, around the museum to look at similar objects and at paintings related to the dolls’ house. Animated figures from the dolls’ house will give explanation on-screen about some of the paintings and objects.

The tour will be available on Imagineear’s MediaPacker™ devices at The Frans Hals Museum from 16th December.
