8 hours of great music by 10 leading composers

“A black-clad figure which seemed to have ascended from Hades”  is how Heinrich Heine described Italian violin virtuoso Niccolò Paganini.  As a sickly four-year-old he was thought dead, wrapped in a shroud and almost buried alive.  By 16, he had to pawn his violin to cover his gambling losses.

The second violin concerto, called ‘La Campanella’, composed by Niccolò Paganini at the peak of his career, is just one of the 26 works, almost 80 tracks, included in this unique compilation of 8 hours of great music from the Classical Period.

imagineear has worked with musicologists and experts from the renowned music publisher Classical.com to bring you works of 10 of the great composers from this period:  Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Paganini, Schubert, Rossini, Carl Philip Emanuel Bach, Donizetti, Gluck and Boccherini.  Orchestral works, solo concertos, chamber music, piano solos, opera overtures and a sprinkling of arias provide a thorough tour d’horizon of the music composed in this period.  The selection will appeal both to classical music lovers and to listeners who are just starting to discover the defining musical masterworks of this period.
