Rijksmuseum Chooses MPti™

The Rijksmuseum, the national museum of The Netherlands and considered to be one of the greatest of its kind in Europe, has chosen Imagineear’s advanced MPti™ devices to play its new self-guided app tour for visitors, now available.

The Museum’s collection consists of more than 8,000 paintings including works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Frans Hals. Although it is particularly strong in 17th century Dutch art, the Rijksmuseum also houses important collections of art from other western European countries, as well as objets d’art, Oriental and decorative arts in more than 80 rooms and galleries.

“We are proud to be working with this prominent world-class museum here in Amsterdam,” said Eleonore Heijboer, a founder of Imagineear and its Creative Director. “It was a pleasure to train the Museum’s highly-professional front of house team in all aspects of our hardware.”

“A new app developed by the Rijksmuseum, KPN, Fabrique, Q24 and Movin is now available for visitors, both as a mobile phone download and, for visitors who prefer, pre-loaded on our MPti™ devices. The use of i-beacons enables visitors to confirm which room they are in and how to find their way from A to B to C.”
