Creating the content

Mixingdesk

No-one remembers the great technology. It’s the content that counts

Dozens of clients worldwide have benefitted from our experience producing audio and multimedia tours.  We always start with the content programming, and this has informed our technology design from the outset.  We focus on flexibility and allowing your team to iterate quickly.  We do not require our clients to come back to us to make small changes when the route, or the hang, changes.  We do not force high resource costs onto multimedia presentations.  And our translation services are highly experienced, accurate and good value.

But our philosophy on content design is more far-reaching.  Our tours offer additional ‘bonus’ materials, and there is no need to leave your visitor when she leaves the site.  We can help you broaden the value of the relationship between your audience and your brand.

12 steps to a pitch-perfect audio tour

We are delighted to advise on your tour, or create the tour to your specifications. Either way, we recommend there are a dozen key steps to ensure success:

  1. Project planning, timing, and assignment of content liaison
  2. Review of existing tours and media
  3. Script drafting, revision and version management
  4. Cultural translation
  5. Voice talent recommendation, selection and negotiation
  6. On-site field recording and interviewing
  7. Studio direction and production
  8. Post-production mixing and editing
  9. Intellectual property rights clearance
  10. File format conversion, compression, storage and backup
  11. File upload, technical test, onsite walk-through and revision
  12. Project archiving and account management

7 easy ways to build and present content

Most challenges facing audio and audio-visual tours onsite can be solved through sensitive and creative content programming.

But this requires control, flexibility, and the ability to upload and test quickly onsite. So these were the design concepts behind theimagineear professional line. The mediaPacker™ modes of content presentation include:

  1. Traditional linear audio mode, with optional 2nd level ‘deep dive’ content
  2. Traditional random access audio mode, with optional 2nd level content
  3. Likewise linear and random access video mode
  4. Multi-lingual video dubbing mode, allowing different language groups to watch the video screen with the same player
  5. Hybrid live+pre-recorded flexibility for personal groupguides
  6. New! dynamic menu mode, particularly suitable for multiple choice content or visitor feedback
  7. New! slideshow mode, allowing true voice-over-image slideshows

imagineear's translation services

Translation is so much more than a question of translating or what is the importance of the Year of the Dragon?
At imagineear we understand the importance of what we call ‘Cultural Translation’. With many years’ experience of translating from and into all major languages, including Mandarin, Korean, Russian, and Japanese and the European majors, we are sensitive to the different context that visitors from other regions bring to your site: a European will have a different understanding of the Year of the Dragon than a Singaporean.

Understanding your audiences

Working with your team, we can also offer expert advice on interviews, voices, tone, length, and shape of your interpretation project.
And we are able to help build tours for the audiences your team is serving, whether children or a variety of special needs groups.

Beyond the on-site tour

With imagineear, the site tour is only half the story. We specialise in building products for retail both on- and offsite, centred around, but extending beyond the tour. ‘Bonus Materials’ on the retail product can include a wealth of additional material and media:

  • Additional interview material

  • Related audio and video materials (which we can often license on your behalf)

  • Maps and local city tours (often imagineear IPs)

  • Music from imagineear’s classical compilations

  • URLs pointing at your website, and those of sponsors or supporters

Better still, let us sell on your behalf through our own distribution networks and smartphone platforms, and pay you royalties for your tour.
