The Irish Football Association chooses Imagineear to provide their Multimedia GroupGuide™ system and content development services for visitors to the National Football Stadium, Belfast
The Education and Heritage Centre at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park, Belfast tells the unique story of Northern Irish football. The centre is a mix of immersive physical interactive activities and key artefacts from the 1880s to the present-day allowing visitors will relive the atmosphere of match day and feel the rush of emotions shared inside the stadium.
The Irish Football Association were seeking a digital partner to use their skills to enhance the existing guided tour offering through dynamic content which will give the Guides’ tools to delight visitors and enrich the experience.
Imagineear designed and produced beautiful multimedia content and user interface screens, drawing on the colours and design of the historic Northern Irish football kit. The result is a vibrant, strong digital visitor experience delivered on Imagineear’s easy to use, robust MPi™ device.
Imagineear provided the Irish FA team with the MGG™ Group-Guiding system which allows guides to trigger content on MPi™ devices at various points to visitors throughout the stadium tour.
The multimedia guide includes exclusive content in dressing room and press conference areas as well as engaging visitors of all ages as they explore some areas of the stadium independently. It was important there was a strong emphasis on the educational elements of the attraction as the stadium enjoys large numbers of school visits throughout the year.
Content produced by Imagineear also incorporated archive footage and assets including career highlights of the legendary George Best. Interactive activities were also included in the form of quizzes using Imagineear’s innovative Rub to Reveal quiz.
“We have had really positive feedback, especially with younger visitors. The ability to get back to the main menu and for visitors to guide themselves has been really useful as we have had a lot of work done to the stadium.” – Jemma Thornbury (Commercial Events Officer, Irish Football Association)
“I’m delighted that we have been able to bring to life the wonderful history and rich character of Northern Irish football with our devices. With our video production work and on-screen activities, our content provides a really fun and engaging tool to complement the tour and the Irish FA’s expert Guides.” – Will Penswick (Project Manager, Imagineear)
