The Wallace Collection chooses to partner with Imagineear
One of the finest and most celebrated art collections in the world, The Wallace Collection, has chosen to work with Imagineear for the first time at its unprecedented exhibition ‘Forgotten Masters: Indian Painting for the East India Company’. All visitors to the exhibition will receive a self-guided multimedia tour produced by Imagineear presented on the MPi™ touchscreen device.
The exhibition focuses on a neglected phase of Indian art history: the rich and diverse bodies of work made by Indian artists on commission from employees of the East India Company stationed in the country during the 18th and 19th centuries. It is an unprecedented opportunity to see these vivid and highly original paintings together for the first time, recognising them as among the greatest masterpieces of Indian painting.
The guide features audio interviews with renowned writer, historian and exhibition curator William Dalrymple, as well as Xavier Bray, Director of The Wallace Collection, and allows visitors to explore the historical context of the exhibition and selected paintings from historically overlooked artists including Shaikh Zain ud-Din, Bhawani Das, Shaikh Mohammad Amir of Karriah, Sita Ram and Ghulam Ali Khan.
Imagineear designed a bespoke user interface with images of featured paintings and a colour palette matching the Farrow and Ball paint used in the different exhibition rooms to aid navigation.

The exhibition runs until 19th April 2020 and all visitors receive the Imagineear guide included in the entrance ticket.
