Tours Created for Museum Alkmaar Exhibition

A Dutch adult multimedia tour and a separate kids’ multimedia tour have been created by Imagineear for the Ruysdael and Saenredam: Masterwork of the Great Church temporary exhibition at the Museum Alkmaar.

This small but significant exhibition has been mounted to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Great St Lawrence’s Church in Alkmaar.  The church is a famous landmark and both its interior and exterior has been the subject of numerous artists since it was built.

The exhibition features views of the church by two renowned Golden Age artists, Salomon van Ruysdael and Pieter Saenredam alongside new captures by two contemporary photographers: Hans van der Meer and Karin Borghouts.

The multimedia tour is solely interview based with recordings that took place on site during the first few days that the exhibition was opened. Besides the photographers’ interviews in the adult tour, Harry de Raad, Keeper of Records for City Alkmaar talks about the Van Ruysdael paintings and art historian, Gary Schwartz is interviewed about Saenredam, in whom he is an expert.

The children’s multimedia tour uses voice professionals to act as the two painters who take the young listeners around the artworks on display.

This is the third temporary exhibition at this museum where Imagineear has designed and produced the tour.
