United Grand Lodge of England chooses Imagineear to create a new multimedia guide at Freemasons’ Hall.
Freemasons’ Hall, home of the United Grand Lodge of England, was originally built as a peace memorial to honour the thousands of Freemasons who fought during the First World War.
The Hall is one of the finest Art Deco buildings in London, still used for its original purpose, and welcomes more than 200,000 people from across the world every year, including members visiting for meetings and guests attending special events.
Building on the success of their guided tours, that saw around 50k visitors passing through their doors, UGLE were looking for an experienced agency to produce a self-guided multimedia tour, enabling visitors to explore Freemasons’ Hall for themselves and allowing for greater audience reach and further tour content possibilities.
In addition to the multimedia guide, UGLE sought development of a web app too, for Open House London, that will allow visitors and the millions of Freemasons around the world to visit the stunning Hall, virtually.
Imagineear designed and produced 3 self-guided tour routes: the full tour of the Hall, the full tour minus the Tower entrance on event days and the B-route tour, designed to allow tours to continue when the Grand Temple and surrounding areas are off limits.
Delivered on Imagineear’s MPti™ device, the final tours feature engaging audio content, beautifully designed graphics and exciting 360 videos.
Stunning drone footage allows visitors to experience and immerse themselves in the most beautiful areas of Freemasons’ Hall, even when closed, and staff interviews give a real insight into daily life at the Hall.
The tour is voiced by Visitor Assistant and Tour Guide, Tara J Griffin, who brought the Hall and its history to life with her enthusiasm and obvious love of the venue, whilst also adding a personal touch.
“We were delighted to be chosen by UGLE to design and produce the tour at Freemasons’ Hall” said Clare Cooper-Hammond, Managing Director at Imagineear. “Using our extensive tour design experience and innovative technology, we have produced a beautiful and informative tour which also meets the client’s brief: to continue the process of de-mystifying Freemasonry, re-centering it transparently as a force for good in society.”
