Imagineear Creates Tour for Adare Manor
Adare Manor, one of Ireland’s premier luxury attractions, chose Imagineear to create a bespoke multimedia tour on the advanced MPti™ player featuring historical highlights and points of interest of the magnificant house and gardens and its aristocratic former occupants.
Located on the banks of the River Maigue in County Limerick, the manor is the former seat of the Earls of Dunraven. Although much of the present 19th Century Neo-Gothic manor was built over 30 years by the 2nd Earl of Dunraven, there has been a house on the land since the Quin family settled in Adare in the mid 1660s. Possibly, the 2nd Earl was aware of calendar houses, a rarity, where the architecture is influenced by the number of days, weeks or months in a year. Adare Manor has 365 windows – one for each day of the year, 52 chimneys representing each week of the year, seven pillars in the Great Hall for the number of days in a week and 4 towers, one for each season.
Adare Manor, and its grounds, including the renowned 18-hole championship golf course, have undergone a significant refurbishment. The building’s architectural heritage as a Neo-Gothic masterpiece has been preserved, while incorporating the contemporary comforts and technological conveniences that luxury travellers seek. A new 42-bedroom wing brings the total number of guest rooms to 104; the ballroom can accommodate 350 guests; the La Mer spar is the first and only in Ireland; the golf course has been redesigned and improved by Tom Fazio; and an exceptional gastronomy programme has been created for guests at this luxury castle hotel.
“This marks the celebratory beginning of Adare Manor’s new legacy,” said General Manager Paul Heery. “Our team has worked to create a vision that not only celebrates the property’s charm and long-standing heritage but also promises a memorable guest experience.”
“Our experience of working with heritage sites together with our advanced, reliable technology and establised connections in Limerick helped us to gain the creation of Adare Manor’s multimedia tour,” says Clare Cooper-Hammond, MD of Imagineear. “We worked hard researching the Quin family history, interviewing family members, gaining unique access to private historical documents and imagery. We’ve woven multiple Adare stories into our script which we designed, recorded and edited to make the interpretation of the Manor’s history and legacy the most rewarding experience possible for guests.”
This castle hotel is situated in the heart of Adare Village in County Limerick. Steeped in history and surrounded by medieval ruins, Adare Manor is in the midst of a groundbreaking transformation set to debut in November 2, 2017. The largest restoration project of its kind in Ireland, the renovation and expansion will honour the building’s architectural heritage as a Neo-Gothic masterpiece while incorporating the latest in contemporary luxury. Most notably, the expansion will include a new 42-bedroom wing, increasing accommodations to a total of 104 guest rooms, a ballroom which can host up to 350 guests, as well as a redesigned golf course by award-winning designer Tom Fazio. The 842 acres of Adare Manor’s beautiful parkland, walled gardens and walking trails will be enhanced and will offer an extensive range of pursuits, including falconry, archery, clay pigeon shooting, fishing, state of the art spa and cinema.
