Imagineear falls for County Clare

Hosted at The Falls Hotel, Ennistymon, County Clare, Ireland’s largest gathering of visitor attraction operators took place in County Clare on the 23rd and 24th of October, for the annual AVEA (Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions) conference.

With a number of our visitor attraction clients from across the island of Ireland in attendance – The Teeling Whiskey Distillery, Christ Church Cathedral, St Canice’s Cathedral, EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, The Irish National Stud & Gardens and Chester Beatty – Imagineear’s Emma Thompson and Charlotte Farrow enjoyed spending time with industry colleagues and learning from fellow delegates about their plans for the future of the Irish Tourism industry.

With a wide range of speakers, including: Jenny de Saulles (Director of Sector Development Fáilte Ireland); Alice Mansergh (CEO of Tourism Ireland); Eimear Callaghan (Head of Experience and Industry Development, Tourism Northern Ireland); Eoghan O’Mara Walsh (CEO of the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation), a variety of topics was covered from post-Covid recovery, sense of place and purpose at visitor attractions, and the importance of sustainability in current and future initiatives.

Imagineear’s team also had the opportunity to experience organised Learning Journeys at some of County Clare’s notable visitor attractions including the Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, The Burren National Park, Caherconnell Stone Fort and King John’s Castle in Limerick City.

“It’s a very well organised conference that feels like a big family reunion of tourism industry professionals,” said Emma Thompson, Senior Account Manager, UK and Ireland. “The busy schedule was cleverly interspersed by informal networking opportunities and wonderful Co Clare hospitality. It was a brilliant way to hear first-hand about the challenges and aspirations for Ireland’s tourism sector, spend time meeting and learning from all the visitor attraction representatives and, very importantly, catch up with our great clients!”
