As part of the brief, Imagineear were required to source stories and recollections from the local community and so devised a social media campaign calling on members of the public to share their personal history and memories of the sites, to be featured as part of the audio content.

Following extensive social media platform research and numerous call-outs, Imagineear were able to interview interesting and diverse community members resulting in unique and relatable contemporary audio content, in addition to the historical narration at each site; from Brides to Authors, Photographers to Sporting personalities.

Other content includes re-imagined stories from historical characters such as Eleanore and Mary de Bohun at Caldicot Castle, statues from the Circle of Legends at Tintern Old Station and the famous Chartist, John Frost who was incarcerated and tried at Shire Hall.

“This is an app full of interesting and well researched historical information which will appeal to many people from Monmouthsire and beyond,” said Peter Hanks, who is featured in the app as a local voice.

Imagineear provided translation and audio production services to deliver Welsh language tour options at each of the three sites. Well-known local voice talents Richard Harrington, Elen Rhys and Steffan Cennydd were used in the Welsh language recordings.
