Weaver’s Cottage, Kilbarchan
Weaver’s Cottage in Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, vividly recreates the living and working conditions of a typical handloom weaver. With low ceiling beams and period furniture, it helps give an insight into life before the Industrial Revolution.
Weaver’s Cottage were seeking to: improve the visitor route through the property, help visitors to better understand how the rooms in the property work together and how they were used through time, establish the context for the cottage and the people who lived and worked there, make human connections and provide more varied and engaging means of storytelling.
Imagineear was commissioned to produce a new film to set the scene for visitors and reinforce why Weaver’s Cottage is, and has been, an important part of local and Scottish heritage throughout the generations. Imagineear also created a ‘Training Tool’ – a dynamic/animated visual record of the process stages to commission, deliver and launch such a film project – for NTS staff, which they can access from their in-house training portal.
